A testament to Alba's ingenuity is our successful collaboration with BBC Industries. BBC manufactures shrink wrapping equipment which involves placing a plastic bag over a finished pallet and heat shrinking the bag to the pallet, providing protection to the pallet when shipping to the customer.
The palletized product in this instance was rolled roofing material placed on a 44" x 52" four-runner skid with a maximum pallet weight of 2,500 pounds.
BBC required a conveyor system with a unique 31" x 45" opening in the middle to accommodate their pallet lift. The purpose was to lift the pallets off the conveyor for shrink-wrapping with their infared oven. Alba rose to the challenge and provided a Chain-Driven Live Roller (CDLR) conveyor with chain boxes on both sides to create the required opening.
Additionally, Alba worked with BBC to customize the conveyor with fork pockets that worked with the end user's fork tines (two fork pockets, 12" wide by 40" long on two CDLR conveyors with gravity rollers in the middle to support the skid). To create a unified appearance, Alba supplied the conveyors with a special gray paint color to match BBC's equipment.
